Bible prophecies that foretold of his coming:

 

One crying in the wilderness:

Is 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

A child born of a virgin:

Is 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Massacre of children by Herod at time of birth of Christ:

Jer 31:15 Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

The place where he would be born:

Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

The flight into Egypt:

Ho 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

His mission:

Is 61:1 The spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

Nu 24:17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

Nu 24:18 And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

Nu 24:19 Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

His special Mission as a "Light to the Gentiles:

Is 49:6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Is 49:7 Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

The miracles He performed:

Is 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Is 6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

Is 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

The parables He used:

Ps 76:2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

Ps 76:3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.

He was despised, rejected, and persecuted by men:

Ps 22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Is 53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

His entrance into Jerusalem sitting on an ass:

Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

His betrayel:

Zec 11:12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

Zec 11:13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

His manner of suffering:

Ps 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

Ps 69:21They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

A bone of Him shall not be broken:

Ps 34:20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

His crucifixion:

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

He is numbered with transgressors:

The price of his burial:

Ho 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

His ascension:

Ps 110:1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Mt 1:1 The book of the gerneration of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Mt 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Ro 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

Ro 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

 

One crying in the wilderness:

Jo 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

Mt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Mt 2:18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

The place where he would be born:

Mt 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

The flight into Egypt:

Mt 2:15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

His mission:

Lu 7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

His special Mission as a "Light to the Gentiles":

Lu 2:32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

The miracles He performed:

Jo 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Jo 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

Jo 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

Jo 12:40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Jo 12:41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

The parables He used:

Mt 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

He was despised, rejected, and persucuted by men:

Mr 15:28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

Mr 15:29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,

His entrance into Jerusalem sitting on an ass:

Mt 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

Mt 21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

Mt 21:3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

Mt 21:4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

Mt 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Mt 21:6And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

Mt 21:7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

His betrayel:

Mt 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

Jo 13:18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Jo 13:19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

His manner of suffering:

Lu 23:36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

A bone of Him shall not be broken:

Jo 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

His crucifixion:

Jo 19:24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

He is numbered with transgressors:

Lu 22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

The price of His burial:

Mt 27:7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

Mt 27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

Mt 27:9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;

His resurrection:

Mt 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Mt 28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

His ascension:

Mr 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
